6 Ways To Deal With Those Bad Days

 

We all have the odd bad day, whether it’s from something like missing a bus to bigger things like work or family issues. That’s life  !! When we have these times, it’s important to not loose sight of the long term and goals you may have. So, here are some ways to help deal with it.

Acceptance

Alot of the time, these thought are only what they are because of the way we perceive it. You need to accept it’s reality. Good and Bad days will come, so you need to keep working towards your long term hopes and dreaming. Accept the way it is. Get up the next day and make it a fresh start.

You Don’t Need To Blame Anybody

When me miss the big opportunity, it’s pretty common to try and blame somebody. You may start running through the things that went wrong. We all say ” if only” and “what if”.  Personally, I sometimes say ” never again” or “that’s the last time”. Thinking  about what could have been done different is a good idea, but it doesn’t completely get you away from what happened. Once you start thinking about the past, you can get back to thinking about your hopes and dreams.

Ask Questions

Instead of think ” why is this happening to me” , you could think ” what’s the best way to deal with it ? “. If we are focused on why something is so bad, we could start thinking crazy thought like ” I’m never going to get there” or “I’m not good enough”. You’ll end up wherever your thinking is. If your focused on the bad stuff, then you could keep heading in that direction. Focus the search engine in your brain on solutions. Think of positive , helpful questions,. This could direct you towards some good positive answers.

Stop Thinking About It

Maybe that sounds like a contradiction to the last steps. But how often are to trying to remember some real basic things, then all of a sudden with it not really been your priority, it all comes back to you. I often have that with somebody’s name . Just the same as the bad thoughts, put yourself in a different space. Direct your brain towards a better question, then go and do something about it.

Relax

One of the best ways to work yourself after a bad day is to relax, do something out. Go for a walk, get that fresh air. Switching off from the problem and focusing on something you love helps to refresh your thoughts. It could be a way to start over. What else could we do ? Are you are Reader, or maybe have a play with your kids. I love walking !! Due to not being a driver ( health issue ), I walk alot just for the sake of walking.

Keep Perspective

Life is a balance. The good and bad stuff. Positive and negative. There can’t really be good ones without the bad ones. If you  are thinking it’s all good then I think you are unrealistic. If everything was “good”, then it would really just be “normal”. Then opportunity to grow and get better sorta goes if you are thinking like that. Achieving your dreams takes commitment and you really need a challenge.Around the corner from a bad day is a good one and on the other side of a challenge is one the the best days you’ve ever had.

    In the past my trend to handling stress or more aptly stated not being able to handle it was buried in the barrage of negative emotions I carried around and poorly made questions. Excellent suggestions to turn my thinking around and the need for positive experiences that begin in my own head. Appreciate you sharing how to get through all the stress.
