Some Tips On Getting Started With Instagram

I have only just started using Instagram. It was something I did want to do, but it seemed like it was something you needed a flash mobile phone to use which I do not have. Well, that is true in the way.You really need a mobile with plenty of space to store your photo’s and videos. You also need to be taking good quality photo’s.My mobile doesn’t really fit into these categories.

I have now got my Instagram account up and running. How ? Well, I am using images from online, mostly from Pixabay. Pixabay is awesome. It has thousands of images about thousands of things. These are all free.
From there I get them to the right size with Canva. Canva is brilliant as well. It helps you make an image whatever size you need, whether it’s for a Pinterest pin, Facebook post or banner. From there I download them and send them to Gramblr. This is a good another good system. Gramblr allows you to schedule posting to Instagram

I recently did a course that said an Instagram account should stick to one subject. So, what would your subject be ? There are many who’s accounts are full of selfies, which it seems get alot of attention. ( If people take a fancy to you )

I have based my account around family & parenting. Why ? Well, I have been a Stay At Home Dad the last 8 or so years. The course I recently did was one from a woman who has been very successful with Instagram. One of her accounts was based around men and coffee.

Sound funny ? It works. This account has nearly 400,000 followers. I would recommend doing the  free course. It got me started moving in the right direction. You should give it a go.

The course talks of setting up your profile. One thing I like about this is it mentions what to use in your profile. Include your blog and also a free offer. Good images should be used along with tags.Don’t over-post. If one posts too often, there is a chance people will get sick of you. So, the course recommends posting about 3 times a day, which I do. It also recommends you interact with others. Like others images and comment on some. I would recommend following others that follow you. When I first started I didn’t do this, and it seemed some unfollowed me.

So, all the best with your Instagram account !!

That’s interesting. Truth is my instagram isn’t centered around my blog but it’s mostly me taking pictures of my pets 😉

I don’t post as often as I should. I did take Alex’s advice on my profile. Thanks for the information, some I had forgotten and have quit doing. Need to get back on it!
